Gratitude is Universal No Matter Race, Religion or Politics

Want to be happier?

Spend more time appreciating what you have, and less time focusing on what you don’t.

Life is too short to constantly be focused on things we don’t have.

That’s not to say, you shouldn’t want anything.

I want many things, but you know what? If I don’t end up getting those things, I’m still cool. Like I’m still happy. I love what I got.

And if I do end up getting what I want? Well that’s just icing on the cake then.

A gratitude mindset involves regularly making the shift from expectation to appreciation.

So when things go wrong, we can choose to find something to be grateful for, instead of complaining and finding someone to blame.

I believe we have the power to create a better world if more and more of us put gratitude to practice.

Here’s an easy way to build your gratitude muscles.

Everyday-Think of something you’re grateful for or someone you appreciate. And write it down in a journal. Or if it’s a person, call that person and let them know what you appreciate about them. Keep it fresh though. Saying you’re grateful for your family 5 consecutive days is not going to be effective.

The key is stay in the moment and feel that appreciation. Your mind is going to want to wander and return to it’s “regularly scheduled programming”. Just let that thought go and take your time in that thought. The longer you stay there, the stronger you are building that gratitude muscle.

There you have it folks. Sometimes it’s the simplest and smallest things we can do that can make the greatest impact. And I think gratitude is one of those things.
